Be A Volunteer Befriender

A befriender is a volunteer, who conducts weekly home visits. We are always seeking like-minded individuals to join our family and help relieve the loneliness and isolation of our seniors.



  • 18 years old & above (those below 18 years old will need to be accompanied by a parent or relative)
  • Ability to converse in Chinese dialects, Malay or Tamil is an advantage
  • Able to commit on a long term basis for weekly home visits
  • Keen to interact with seniors

  • Weekly home visits to seniors’ residence
  • Provide social and psycho-emotional support to seniors
  • Submit visit reports (check-call reports) to Befriender Executive regularly
  • Inform Befriender Executive if seniors shows unusual behaviour such as signs of depression, abuse, suicidal tendencies, or for any urgent matter so that professional help can be sought
