Outreach Programme
At the 3 Outreach Centres, we engage the seniors in various activities to keep them active and meaningfully occupied so that they can age gracefully. A wide variety of exciting activities are organized daily for the residents to interact with each other and to gain new knowledge.

As Lions Befrienders’ first Neighbourhood Link, the Centre now serves all lonely seniors and residents living in the vicinity. Mei Ling operates a Thrift Shop which is a popular attraction amongst those hungry for retail therapy. It is also the first centre to initiate an inter-centre senior’s karaoke competition.
Mei Ling provides holistic programmes that promote the individual and community’s health and well-being. Serving about 550 members as at end April 2007, Mei Ling offers the following programmes: -
Elderobics
Multi-Ring Toss
Intergenerational bonding day
Karaoke sessions
Beads handicraft session
Alert Alarm System
(Allows residents to sound the alarm for help in the event of an emergency)

AMK 318 is a vibrant meeting place where the young and old gather to interact and engage in recreational and enrichment activities. As of end April 2007, the NL serves some 524 residents living within 4 Teck Ghee zones from some 35 blocks as it boasts of a myriad of programmes: -
Morning exercise,multi-ring toss, Boccia
Chinese dance & folk dances
Karaoke sessions
Conversational English classes
Gym facility
Information & referral service
Alert Alarm System (Allows residents to sound the alarm for help in the event of an emergency)

Nestled in the heartland at Bendemeer Road, the NL officially opens on 26 May 2007 to engage more seniors in wholesome programmes and activities. The NL serves as a one-stop centre for information for social services, especially for vulnerable seniors, and a local community hub for activities and intergenerational bonding for residents.
Currently serving a membership of about 650 as at end April 2007, Bendemeer NL offers a wide variety of activities for seniors to forge new friendships, learn new skills, pick up hobbies and simply spend their days leisurely in retirement bliss. Bendemeer offers the following programmes
Bingo
calligraphy classes
beginner Japanese classes
karaoke singing
morning exercise
traditional Chinese massage
The Centre is supported by the Lions Clubs Singapore of Eunos, Compassvale, Mandarin, Katong Mandarin, Oriental and Paya Lebar as well as grassroot leaders from Jalan Besar / Bendemeer RCs and Kallang Community Club.
